Previously paid heists are included in the PAYDAY 3 base game under the 2026 changes. This is about access to heists, not a statement that every paid weapon, character, cosmetic or Crimebond has become free.
Do you need an old heist pack?
For the previously paid heists, do not use a 2025 purchase guide as your access checklist. The August 3.8 announcement described delisting paid heist packs and September access changes; the September 3.9 retrospective says the heists had been made free the previous month. Both support current inclusion, but their wording differs on timing. We therefore do not give an exact historical switch-over day.
What campaign mode changes
Update 3.9 rewrote the story wrapper connecting heists, establishing Shade's relationship with the gang and changing the narrative context. A campaign entry should not be counted automatically as a newly built map. The official notes also acknowledged outdated objectives and subtitles in some missions at release. That historical warning is not evidence that every such issue remains unfixed today.
A new variant is not the same route
Update 3.10 added Feeding Frenzy, a night-time, loud-from-the-start take on Gold & Sharke. Do not select it expecting to follow a stealth route for the original heist. Other reworks can change objectives and traversal even when the displayed heist name is familiar; check the reworked-heists guide before relying on an old walkthrough.
If access still looks wrong
Confirm the selected mission and installed version, then distinguish a heist restriction from a weapon or cosmetic entitlement. Record the platform, exact locked item and message for official support. Do not buy an old pack merely because an outdated article says you must. This guide does not promise that paid non-heist licenses transfer between platforms.
